Dorothy DeBlasio

Senior Meeting and Event Manager

Dorothy DeBlasio holds her degree in Communications with a minor in Art History from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  She has worked professionally in the events industry for over 18 years and takes great satisfaction in providing detailed, organized, and positive customer service. Most recently, Dorothy spent 6 years with Black Star Farms as the Event Sales Manager and the Director of Culinary and Event Operations.  Dorothy began her career working in events at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.  where she was involved with both social and corporate events as well as the development of their offsite catering operation.

In 2019, Michigan Meetings + Events Magazine inducted Dorothy into the Hall of Fame for Best Event Planner.

Dorothy will focus her energy on the detailed planning and execution of all aspects of the Events North operations and programs as Senior Meeting and Event Manager.  Dorothy’s background has largely been on the venue side of events giving her a well-rounded perspective about intricate facets of event planning from operations to site selection, pre-planning, and day of management.  This coupled with her attention to detail and strong organizational skills Dorothy will play a vital role on the Events North team.

A southern girl at heart from the mountains of Asheville, NC, Dorothy moved to Traverse City with her husband, Rick DeBlasio and has grown to love the region as all who visit do.  Dorothy has a son Gaines (7) and daughter Miller (2) whom she loves to share time with enjoying the beauty of our greater bay region.  She is as equally comfortable on the water cruising as she is finding the next great spot to dine.
