Senior Meeting and Event Manager

Meg Gutowski is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a BA in Hospitality and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Event Planning.  She has over eighteen years of professional experience in the events industry. Meg prides herself in delivering exceptional, upbeat and personalized customer service.

As Senior Meeting and Event Manager, Meg specializes in the intensive planning and execution of all functions at Events North. Meg has an extensive background managing and overseeing events from a venue standpoint and carries that knowledge and expertise with her in site selection and event management for her clients from the planner’s perspective. Her excellent administrative, organizational, quick problem solving and negotiation skills make her an essential part of the Events North team. Meg also specializes in building and developing registration systems and websites to create a seamless user experience.

In 2013, Meg was inducted into Michigan Meetings + Events Magazine’s Hall of Fame as Up-and-Coming Special Events Planner. Meg is a founding committee member of Northern Michigan Event Professionals, an active member of International Live Events Association Detroit (ILEA) and is also involved in local groups including MI Women in Leadership. Meg currently serves on the board as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the Detroit Chapter of International Live Events Association.

Throughout the years, Meg has established exemplary relationships with an extensive network of trusted vendors and meeting professionals earning her a reputation as a valued partner in the industry. Meg also prides herself on mentoring students and has presented to large groups of students and counseled many interns. 

Meg has been involved in FUSE (formerly Traverse City Young Professionals), Grand Traverse Area Hospitality Association, Traverse City Tourism Events Committee, and more. Additionally, Meg has Co-Chaired the Silent Auction for the Remembrance Run benefiting the Local Women’s Cancer Fund for two years and acted as Volunteer Manager for Traverse City Film Festival’s Opening Night Party in 2014. Meg is also currently serving on the board of her church as Vice President.

Meg enjoys showing off the region to any out of town guests. Married in 2013, Meg, her Husband, Phil and their two sons Beau (7), and Wells (4), enjoy all that the stunning region has to offer. Meg loves spending time cruising the lakes with her family on her new boat, traveling around the country to visit family or staying home with her boys and three dogs watching Northern Michigan sunsets on their back deck overlooking the cherry orchard.
